Introduction.
Realism events in WWIIOnline are played once per month. The aim of the event is to get players to take part in a structured event, with primary and secondary objectives. Having only one life puts ‘fear of death’ into the players mind, and therefore they tend to play together as a more focused coherent team.
Each side has a side leader who assigns his troops to specific squads, and each squad will have a mission to accomplish. For example, the demolitions team may be assigned to destroy a certain building, while the assault team gives them cover fire. These events tend to take a long time to complete as players will be more cautious and anyone who thinks he is ‘John Rambo’ will soon realise that he is not. You die, and you are out. The servers will be locked, ensuring that anyone who has died will not be able to respawn.

Points Scoring
There are two types of point scoring. Side points, and Personal points.

Side Points
Side points are achieved by the entire side, and are broken down as follows :
*This points scoring system is still incomplete.

Primary goal : +100
Secondary goal : +65

Side leaders death : +25 to enemy
Squad Leaders death : +10 to enemy

Loss of heavy armour : + 15 to enemy
Loss of Medium armour : + 10 to enemy
Loss of Light armour : + 5 to enemy

Loss of ATG : + 5 to enemy

Loss of sniper : + 5 to enemy

Personal Points
Personal points are achieved by individual players. Those that survive gain 1 point for that event. These are accumulated, thus allowing the player to gain rank. Two points allows you to gain 1 rank level as follows :
Points Rank Setrank
(type .setrank in training server)
0 Private 1
1 Private 1
2 Lance Corporal 2
3 Lance Corporal 2
4 Corporal 3
5 Corporal 3
6 Sergeant 4
7 Sergeant 4
8 Color Sergeant 5
9 Color Sergeant 5
10 QM Sergeant 6
11 QM Sergeant 6
12 Sgt. Major 7
13 Sgt. Major 7

· If a player dies during an event, he/she is removed from play and their personal points are reset to 0.
· Players asked to lead squads are always ranked at level 8.
· At rank 6 (QM Sergeant) the player has access to binoculars.
· The side leaders will always be rank 11.

Other Rules.
As the event progresses new rules will be created, or others removed until the system is refined. As the event is still new, changes will definitely occur.

Vehicles
Vehicles in realism events can make or break a game, so these are tricky to implement. What happens if the driver of a Sherman CTDs and only the commander is left? This is a problem in itself.

CTDs
CTDs (Crash to Desktop) are a complicated thing to implement in a realism event. In a previous event I was charged with being the driver in a STUG. It took us a long time to set up, and 15 minutes into the event, I CTDd, loosing my position. So I do know exactly how it feels to loose something that precious. However, the arena has to be locked, and if you CTD you are out.
It is well documented that many vehicles had systems failures and breakdowns during WWII. A CTD will represent this; A jammed turret, engine failure etc.

Towing
In Realism events there will be times when units will need to be towed. As we all know, in WWIIOnline, one vehicle can tow multiple units on the live server. This will not be accepted during the events. If three separate units need to be towed, they will be towed individually.
